1950s Two-Tone Movado ‘Calendograph’ with Breguet Numerals

Why This Watch Matters

This Movado "Calendograph" has all the elements of a great vintage watch: pink-gold case, sharp faceted lugs, triple-date complication, two-tone dial, and Breguet numerals. All this for less than $3,000.

The Full Story

This Movado Calendograph in stainless steel and pink gold is an interesting watch that is hard to find in good condition. This particular piece is special because it features an easy-to-read triple-date function with the day and month in Spanish. Additionally, the two-tone dial is broken down into four chapter rings for seconds, date, hours, month and date. This model also features the desirable indirect center seconds. Another thing to note is the cool two-tone case (we swear it’s coming back) made of stainless steel and pink gold. This really neat timepiece is not one you see often, and offers a lot of vintage watch nerd street cred at a reasonable price.

What we Love and What You Should Know

The case on this watch is in very good shape for its age and show minimal signs of wear. There are almost no scratches with the exception of the case band, where the watch was opened in the past. The dial also has areas of discoloration and spotting on the hour chapter ring and around the edges. The thin hands also show slight signs of aging, but all of this is to be expected of a watch from the early 1950s.
